“ADF is a membership club experience conceived by art collector and Köln native, Anna Delvey, organized around a world-class contemporary art collection. Operated as a non-profit housed within the club’s building, this contemporary collection will inform ADF’s exclusive membership experience and foster an environment unavailable anywhere else in the world. Easily accessible and stylishly conceived, ADF offers fine dining, cocktails, members’ lounges, contemporary art, and an artist studio — entirely integrated within an historic building in the heart of Manhattan.”
Above was the funding proposal for the Anna Delvey Foundation, named after the criminal ‘mastermind’ now on trial in New York.
That’s Not My Name!
According to reports, fake ‘German heiress’ Anna Delvey, later discovered to be Anna Sorokin had been duping people since 2016. Handing out $100 bills at the drop of a hat, apart from the casual name dropping, is what helped her fool Manhattan’s elite. But the truth was that Anna could neither afford the lifestyle she was living, nor did she actually know any of the people she claimed to. It was all an act, to get rich and famous quickly. An act that involved lies, debt and now criminal charges.
Anna’s proposal for opening an exclusive art club was one of her many schemes to make money – $22 million to be exact. The proposal was complete with a list of potential backers, proposed exhibitions and a diverse range of facilities for members. Fortunately, Anna’s misdoings were discovered, leading to her arrest in 2017.
Anna’s total fraud stands at $275,000, according to charges from the Manhattan District Attorney. According to her Marc Kramers, who helped Anna with her brochure, “She truly is the malignant child of the Instagram age”.
