Sachin is an artist whose works are often seen in hotels and private collection, in drawing rooms and corporate offices. But very few will be able to identify that yes this is the hand and work of Sachin Sagare. There is a relatability in his work which is one of the most seen artists he is identifiable and successful. Even in the deluge that in the art-world where visuals merge into one another, Sagare leaves an impact and has recall value. This is the reason we have placed him here today.
Born in 1981,he grew up in the small village, Pandharpur has, in central Maharashtra India.
“I observed passionate an hardworking women all around me. When I started painting I was deeply influenced by these women who, although fragile and diminutive, are the cornerstone in shaping the values and culture of the society. Similarly, a flower is a symbol of natural beauty and fertility. There is a conscious and intimate relationship between the women and the flowers which can give an experience of communion with the Divine and awakens the true consciousness in us”. Says the artist who is known by the depictions that project an iron strength, in the most gentle manner possible.
Why Sachin Sagare?
The women that he projects are the stronghold of Indian society. In a sense, he is celebrating the quiet and unrecognised strength of women. Growing up in a village, he would have definitely been acquainted with the lifestyle of women who were tough and accomplished several tasks. They were performing tasks that were physically taxing. But they would swiftly melt into the role of mothers or maternal figures taking care of the children and the entire family. Without exposure to media – their vocabulary was devoid of the urban concepts that women asserted their rights to.
This is what embellishes them with more grace and power.
He continues with his allegorical allusions between women and beautiful blossoms. Because much like the later whose fragrance makes the world a place of delight, the presence of a woman does the same. Moreover, he associates a cultural connotation of the flower being a symbol of natural beauty and fertility.
Further he explores the form of the flower comparing it to the feminine form – “I often paint women holding flowers in their natural settings, exploring the rhyming shapes and patterns created by the symmetrical image.” Thus at the ideological, spiritual and material level he has drawn parallels between his chosen subjects.
He continues to incorporate stylistic elements of scenes of daily rustic rural life with the contemporary interest in classical antiquity to create an erotic mood, which has been a strong subtext of Indian art from time immemorial. He journeys deeper into the subject using delicate dramatic line and earthy colours to capture the transparencies of emotions.
This talented artist he completed a Diploma in Drawing and Painting from the Dalvis Art Institute, Kohlapur in 2002, and after two years, in 2004, he earned a Diploma in Applied Arts from the Abhinav Kala Mahavidhyalaya, Pune.
Sagare addresses an important issue through his theme – he shares with the world his belief about the vital role that women play in structuring the values and culture of a society. By paying homage to female figures he has been influenced and inspired by, he is putting his thoughts on a global platform. Through the artworks – the honest renditions of the myriad expressions and yet unexpressed voices, he has created a veritable portfolio.
